Mission Statement:

The Academic Advising Center provides advising to new and returning students.  The advising staff assists in the development of meaningful plans of study and schedules in order for students to achieve their educational goals.  We believe that by giving students the knowledge and skills to carefully plan their academic program they are able to make informed and responsible decisions at Goodwin College.

We Strive to:

  • Maintain a student-centered approach.
  • Assist those students who experience adjustment difficulties when returning to higher education.
  • Consider students’ needs, goals, academic experiences, and interests when designing a plan of study and schedule.
  • Work proactively to ensure student success.

What the Academic Advising Office Does:

  • Register new and returning students for courses
  • Advise students on course selection
  • Develop plan of study for selective admission programs
  • Add, drop and withdraw students from classes
  • Answer academic questions regarding courses and plan of study
  • Counsel students if they are having academic difficulties
  • Serve as a support system for enrolled students

The Academic Advising Office is located on the first floor of the Academic Building, room 111
