Goodwin College ESL Program

For more than two decades, Goodwin College has welcomed students from all over the world to participate in its English as a Second Language (ESL) program. The academic goal of the ESL program is to improve proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English in order to enhance living and working in the United States. Many students who receive a Collegiate Certificate in ESL go on to study at Goodwin College or other schools in the area or obtain full-time jobs with local employers.

With the support of each other and their teachers, ESL students grow to understand American customs and cultures. Through classroom and program activities, students also learn about the cultures and lives of people from all around the world, exposing them to a wide range of ideas and experiences. They easily form lasting friendships, linked in the common experience of living in America and working to improve their English together.

Small classes, held during the day or in the evening, staffed by dedicated, experienced teachers who provide a variety of learning experiences make the ESL program at Goodwin College a unique learning experience.
