·         Goodwin College joined the East Hartford Fire Department and the Capitol Region Emergency Planning Committee to conduct a Mass Decontamination Training Exercise at Rentschler Stadium last Wednesday.  This exercise was part of the on-going training for members of these agencies that allows them to be prepared should the need ever arise to respond to an actual biological, chemical or radiological mass contamination incident.  Goodwin College Homeland Security Program students participated in the event, along with members of the public and other Goodwin students and staff.  Click on “Mass Decon Training Exercise” to see a photo of the equipment used in the decontamination process.

·         Students from an Environmental Science Class visited Goodwin College’s new campus site to witness the clean-up efforts for this former oil tank farm.  Click here to see a picture of Nylsa Martinez (left) and Olga Rivera (right) at the site.  In the background is Robert J. Carr, P.E., LEP, who told the students about the environmental clean up happening at the site.
