Edward Kobylanski, RN, MSN
Assistant Professor Nursing

Mr. Kobylanski has been teaching Associate Degree level nursing since 2002 and joined Goodwin College's Nursing Faculty November 2005. He received his undergraduate degree from Daemen College, Williamsville, NY and received his Master of Science in Nursing degree with a concentration in Nursing Management from University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

Mr. Kobylanski has progressive nursing experience in the area of acute medical/surgical care. In addition he has +27 years of healthcare management/leadership experience. He is the Nursing 100 Course Leader.

 

 

Jan Costello

Chair, Nursing Program

Jan was born in Waltham, Massachusetts and resided on Cape Cod until she came to Nursing school in Hartford in 1972 . She attended the 3 year RN program at Hartford Hospital and graduated in 1975. In 1992 she received her BSN degree from the University of Hartford. Her MSN degree was also achieved at the University of Hartford in 2002.

 Her career has been primarily in long term care including the Hebrew Home and Hospital in West Hartford, Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home in Holyoke, MA and Masonic Health Care Center in Wallingford. Jan brings approximately 27 years of management experience with her to Goodwin.

She has been married for 30 years with 2 adult children, Heather  and Nathan and currently resides in Enfield.

 
 

Lois K. Daniels

Degrees:

Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery    1967   Yale University

 Former Chair of Nursing Department, Lois developed the Goodwin College Nursing Program. In January 2006, she stepped down to a faculty position. She is currently an Assistant Professor and is Course Coordinator for the Nursing 210: Families & Wellness across the Lifespan course. Her specialty is Maternal-Newborn Nursing. She completed all-but-dissertation doctoral work in Public Health at Yale University in 1994.

                             
 

 

Elaine Simms-Walton RN, MSN
Faculty Member/Nursing 110 Coordinator

 

Elaine was born in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from the City College of the City University of New York where she earned her BSN in 1980. She worked for 3 years at Mount Sinai Hospital as a staff nurse on a large Medical Unit. She relocated to Connecticut in 1983 and began her career as a staff nurse in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit in a major hospital. For the next 16 years, she progressed from Clinical Nurse 1 to Clinical Nurse 3 in the C.I.C.U. In 1998 she earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Hartford. During her 26 years in Nursing, Elaine has held a myriad of positions including: Administrative Supervisor, Medicare Coordinator, Consultant, Restorative Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Nurse Manager. She has worked in Acute Care, Home Care and Long Term Care. She joined the faculty of Goodwin College in August 2005. She is married and has 2 adult daughters. Elaine enjoys teaching and feels that she is enjoying the best of both worlds: Nursing and teaching!


Nancy Peer, RN, MSN

Assistant Professor - Nursing Department

Mrs. Peer received her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph College, W. Hartford, CT and received her graduate degree, with a concentration in Nursing Education, from University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

Mrs. Peer has progressive nursing experience in the areas of acute care, home care, community care and long term care during her nursing career. She embarked on her academic career in November, 2005, developing the Nursing 200 Course, Adults and the Wellness Continuum II, which covers medical/surgical aspects of nursing, as well as assisted in the preparation for the National League of Nursing Accreditation of the Nursing Program at Goodwin College.

Mrs. Peer is the Course Coordinator of Nursing 200 with oversight of both theory and clinical components of the course. In addition to teaching Nursing Theory, she also does clinical instruction, with a concentration on cardiac surgery, at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford, CT.

Pam Walker, RN, MSN

Assistant Professor Nursing

Nursing 220 Coordinator

Pam was born in Rockville, Connecticut, and lived there until 1988 when she and her family moved to Springfield, Massachusetts. Pam began her nursing career in 1981 as an LPN.  She worked at Rockville General Hospital until 1992, at which time she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Regents College at the University of New York and made the transition into home care nursing.  She graduated from the University of Hartford in 2005 with a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nursing Education. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, the National League for Nursing and the Connecticut League for Nursing.

Pam’s experience in home care includes staff nurse, nursing supervisor, staff development and education, quality assurance, and clinical director. She has served as adjunct nursing faculty at University of Hartford, Elms College in Chicopee, MA, and Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, MA. She has been a member of the Goodwin College Nursing Faculty since May, 2006, and is currently the course coordinator for Nursing 220.
